THE LEAD — Hot off their win on Tuesday against VTSU Johnson, the Lynx looked to win their first back-to-back games of the season as they celebrated Senior Night. On the other side of the court, the SUNY Delhi Broncos had hopes of turning around their recent bad luck as their season wrapped up. After a neck-and-neck battle that ultimately came down to the wire, the Broncos were able to sneak out the win.
HOW IT HAPPENED
-
The Broncos started the game off on a 13-3 run, which can waiver hope for any team.
-
But not the Lynx, as they used the rest of the quarter to go on a 12-2 run of their own to finish the opener tied.
-
Both teams showed incredible defense in the second. SUNY Delhi was only able to put up seven points, less than half of their previous quarters. While the Lynx only scored six.
-
Coming out of halftime, the Broncos' offense came back to life, and their defense didn't subside. They went on a 14-2 run that took up over nine minutes of the third.
-
The Lynx found themselves down 11 entering the fourth, but they were up for the challenge.
-
In her very first collegiate basketball game, Leah St John made a layup despite a foul to start the Lynx's rally.
-
The Lynx would put up 17, their most amount of points in a quarter all game, while only allowing the Broncos any.
-
A pair of free throws from Shayla King put Lesley within two with a minute left. But the Broncos were able to run out the clock and take home the 46-44 win
