THE LEAD —  The Lynx returned to Minuteman after a lengthy road trip and were hungry for their first win of the new year. Fisher College agreed to this game just a few days ago, after Vermont State Randolph had to bow out. Nevertheless, they came ready to take on the team across the Charles. Lesley got off to a hot start and didn't look back. They put up their best offensive and defensive performance of the season. The Lynx got a big 77-23 win as they head into the homestretch of their season.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Shayla King got the Lynx off to a strong start. Sinking a jumper right out of the gate, followed by a three right after.

  • Lesley's defense also started hot, only allowing four points in the opening quarter.

  • The Falcons started to retaliate in the second, matching their opening quarter's total within two minutes.

  • Lesley's defense started to waiver, and the two teams went shot for shot for a while, but some threes from the Lynx kept their lead growing.

  • But they continued to shoot. They put up 21 in the third, their most yet.

  • In the fourth, their offense exploded even more. They put up 25 points.

  • Their defense did even better, only allowing the Falcons two points.

  • Despite two Lynx fouling out and turning the game into a 4-on-5 matchup. They continued to shoot and get their players some huge statistical milestones.

  • The Lynx took home their first win of the new year, 77-23.
