THE LEAD — The Lynx went into the game looking to end their recent losing streak, while Husson University was hoping to turn their recent win into a streak of their own. The Eagles got off to a very hot start, but Lesley's defense got better as the game went on. The Lynx weren't able to overcome the hole they dug, falling 69-49.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • The Lynx started off hot when Leila Chisholm hit a three-pointer plus the And-1.

  • The Eagles responded by going on a 25- 2 run that lasted almost the entirety of the first quarter.

  • Lesley's defense started to wake up in the second and only got better. The Eagles would score fewer and fewer points every quarter.

  • Husson's defense was at its best, holding the Lynx to only six points.

  • A three from the Eagles, Sydney Carnes sent them into halftime up 44 to 14.

  • The Lynx started to chip away at the deficit, scoring 16 in the third, including a three from Savannah Gravitt to end the quarter.

  • Lesley's comeback was in full swing in the fourth, holding the once-unstoppable Eagles to only nine points in the fourth.

  • Unfortunately, there was not enough time on the clock, and the Lynx ultimately fell 69-49.
