THE LEAD — The Lesley Lynx looked to start the year on a new foot against the NAC rival Thomas College Terriers. However, the Terriers wanted to flip their previous game's win into a streak. Thanks to their nearly unstoppable offense from a handful of players, they managed to pull out a conference win.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • The Terriers started sharp, starting the game on a 16-point run before Charlotte Meixsell came off the bench and sank a three to get the Lynx on the board.

  • The first quarter was all Thomas College, finishing 18-3.

  • Lesley's offense did start to pick up in the second, with three players making at least a basket. But their main improvements came on the other side of the ball with Madalynn Biagi and Leila Chisholm each grabbing two steals, with the latter hitting the team's sole block of the game.

  • Due to the Lynx's defense, the Terriers put up their worst offensive quarter of the game, but still went into the half up 31-10.

  • Lesley continued their offensive improvements in the third, scoring 12, half of which came from Alawnah Dunda, who also grabbed a team-high three rebounds in the quarter.

  • The Terrier's Pryelle Kesse-Beda had her best shooting quarter, hitting all of her shots and adding a block for good measure.

  • The Lynx were able to shut her down in the fourth and also finished the game with their most productive quarter.

  • Chisholm and Dunda each scored six of the team's 17 points in the fourth. The Lynx were also perfect from three with Chisholm hitting two and Meixell sinking her second of the game.

  • The comeback, however, was far too late; after all was said and done, the Terriers went home with a NAC win, continuing their win streak.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS
