THE LEAD – The Lesley University men's and women's cross country teams raced Saturday morning at the WNE Golden Bear Invitational hosted by Western New England University. The men posted a 17th place team finish while the women's registered a 19th place result.
LESLEY HIGHLIGHTS
- Senior Zephaniaya Alvarado (Manhattan, N.Y.) finished 45th overall with a time of 28:12 as the top LU racer.
- First year's Prince Calhoun (Woburn, Mass.) posted a time of 29:02 for a 62nd showing while Jonathan Le Maitre (Easton, Pa.) clocked in at 30:42, crossing the line just outside the top 100 racers at 103rd.
- Sophomore Rebecca Hall (Richmond, Vt.) paced the women with a 25:51 mark for a 43rd position.
- Sophomore Rori Allen (Berlin, Pa.) and senior Leila Chisholm (Santa Barbara, Calif.) came in together with the same time of 38:29.
WINNING PERFORMANCES
- RPI earned the team win on the Men's side in a landslide 21 point showing. Fitchburg State's Paulino Guevara Mateo was the only non-RPI runner in the top five, winning the individual race with a time of 25:17.
- RPI also took home the team victory in the Women's race. Salve Regina's Anna Weygang was the individual champion with a time of 22:10.
