Legendre & Russo Highlight Women's Tennis All-Conference Picks

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - Five members of the Lesley women's tennis team have earned North Atlantic Conference (NAC) postseason honors, as announced by the conference earlier this week.

Senior Jessica Legendre (Leesville, La.) and Head Coach Jessica Russo highlighted the list of award recipients. Legendre earned Co-NAC Player of the Year honors in addition to being voted the NAC Women's Tennis Senior Scholar Athlete. Russo was tabbed the NAC Coach of the Year for the third consecutive season, sharing the honor with the Husson University coaching staff.

Legendre's Player of the Year honor is the fourth in program history and the second of her career as she also earned the recognition as a sophomore. In addition to the major award, the senior snagged a spot on the First Team All-Conference singles line up as well as the First Team All-Conference doubles roster. She competed all season at No. 1 doubles and played No. 2 singles for majority of the season as well. Overall, she is 8-1 in both singles and doubles for the Lynx, where her only loss on the year was a non-conference matchup against UMass Boston. In addition to her All-Conference awards, Legendre was named to the 2025 NAC Women's Tennis Championship All-Tournament Team. Over her four-year career at Lesley, Legendre held an impressive 45-6-3 singles record and went 44-9-1 in doubles.

In addition to her Co-Player of the Year honors, Legendre was recognized as this year's distinguished women's tennis Senior Scholar Athlete. Legendre has excelled on and off the court during her four years at Lesley. The senior Animation and Motion Media major holds a 3.8 GPA and has earned Deans list every semester at Lesley as well as Academic All- District Team honors. She works with a professional studio through Lesley where her work is used on major streaming platforms. In addition, Legendre is very involved on campus including serving as an admissions ambassador, creating the Lesley University Literary Magazine that highlights the Lesley student experience, and serving on SAAC. Athletically she has been served as captain the last two seasons, is at the top of the Lynx lineup all four years, and never lost more than 1-2 times per season.

Russo secures her third NAC Coach of the Year honors leading the Lynx to a 4-2 conference and 6-8 overall record. The Lynx also earned a spot in the 2025 tournament as the No. 4 seed. It also marks her fourth consecutive Coach of the Year honor as she was tabbed the 2022 Great Northeast Athletic Conference Coach of the Year by her GNAC coaching peers before Lesley transitioned back into the NAC.

Joining Legendre on First Team All-Conference doubles is sophomore Anna Stamp (Belchertown, Mass.), posting an 8-1 mark in doubles during the regular-season.

Junior Mary Osucha (Knoxville, Tenn.) earned First Team All-Conference honors in singles for the third straight season. She registered a 9-1 mark during the regular-season and is now 32-6-1 during her Lesley career in singles play.

Rounding out the group, Tali-Anna Sutherland (Bridgeport, Conn.) earned North Atlantic Conference All-Sportsmanship Team honors.

The Lynx wrapped up the 2025 campaign going 6-8 overall, with six of the losses being decided by a very tight 4-3 final score. They qualified for the NAC postseason as the No. 4 seed and gave the eventual champion, Simmons University, all they could handle in the Semifinal match-up before falling, 4-1.
