HOW IT HAPPENED

  • In doubles, the Blue Jays swept all three matchups to start the day. In the first doubles spot, Jay Xiao and Lia Melvin took down the pairing of Mary Osucha (Knoxville, Tenn.) and Lucy Boyce (Marshfield, Mass.), 6-0. Later in the second doubles spot, Kamila Wong and Ava Li bested the Lynx's number two pairing of Jessica Legendre (Leesville, La.) and Anna Stamp (Belchertown, Mass.) by a score of 4-1. In the final doubles matchup,  Sahana Madala and  Sydney Langer bested the Lynx's doubles three spot of Tali-Anna Sutherland (Bridgeport, Conn.) and Pamela Manriquez (Quincy, Mass.), 6-0.
  • When it came to singles, Xiao bested Osucha in the first spot by a score of 6-2 and 6-0. Later in singles three, Sahana Sanjeev gave Johns Hopkins the win over Boyce in straight sets (6-0, 6-0). Finally, Melvin took down Stamp at singles four to ultimately secure the match win (6-0, 6-0).
  • Singles two, five, and six ended up going unfinished but in the brief moments of action during those matchups, Sydney Langer was beating Legendre (6-0, 3-0)  and in the five spot Li briefly was ahead of Sutherland (1-0). Finally, the six spot did not end up taking place but it would've saw Manriquez take on Madala.
