THE LEAD – Lesley University registered an 8-0-win Saturday afternoon over VTSU Lyndon to clinch the No. 1 seed in the upcoming North Atlantic Conference (NAC) women's soccer championship field.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Five different Lynx registered first half goals to put the game in hand by halftime. Junior Marissa De La Rosa (Phoenix, Ariz.), senior Charlotte Meixsell (Boxford, Mass.), sophomore Meriel Wordell (Newton, Mass.), senior Madison Reed (Burlingame, Calif.) and junior Milana Rosazza (Denver, Colo.) all found the back of the net for Lesley before the intermission.
  • Wordell made it 6-0 with her second goal of the afternoon in the 79th minute and then senior Maddy Duskocy (Ellington, Conn.) and first year Gretel Davis (Yorba Lindo, Calif.) wrapped up the scoring with goals over the final eight minutes of regulation.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS

  • Lesley owned a 37-1 advantage in shots in addition to a 9-0 cushion in corners.
  • LU first year keeper Lloy Bartolotti (Portland, Ore.) notched one save in the shutout win to improve to 5-1 on the year, all five wins in shutouts.
  • The goal for Reed was the first of the senior's career.
  • Mikayla Voyer (Chico, Calif.), Jenna Chlapowski (Eatontown, N.J.), Zoe Curtaz (Novato, Calif.) and Rosazza all recorded assists in the win.

OF NOTE

  • The Lynx clinched the No. 1 seed in the 2025 NAC Women's Soccer Tournament ending the regular-season with a 7-0-2 mark for a share of first place with Husson University. Lesley came ahead in the conference's tie-breaker protocol thanks to a head-to-head win last weekend vs. Maine Maritime Academy whereas the Eagles tied MMA in their regular-season finale. .

  • Lesley will host the winner of the No. 4/5 quarterfinal contest between VTSU Johnson and UMaine Farmington next Saturday, Nov. 1. Gametime is currently TBD.
