Track Impresses at Sean Collier Invitational

The Lead - The Lynx headed to M.I.T for the Sean Collier Invitational to race and throw against the very best in the Northeast. Despite facing off against D1 talent, the Lynx held their own with two top 25 finishes and every competitor finished in the top 50 of their event

 

Top Men's Performers:

  • Moses Semuhoza competed in both Track and Field. He finished 21st in the Shot Put with a personal best distance of 9.38 meters, almost two feet farther than his previous record and putting him second all-time in program history. He also ran the 100, finishing 48th with a PR of 14.45.

  • Osmin Castaneda also threw the shot today, finishing 22nd with a distance of 7.41 meters. He also threw Disc and placed 31st with a mark of 20.08, good for 31st.

  • In his first-ever 400, Sammy Nzeyimana ran a 60.37, placing him 27th in the meet and 9th all-time at Lesley.

  • In the 800, reigning NAC Rookie of the Week, Jonathan Le Maire ran a new PR 2:06 flat. Shaving more than a second off his previous record he set last week. He still holds the number three spot on the Lesley all-time list.

  • After false-starting in the 400, Tyshawn Brownfield redeemed himself in his first-ever 800-meter. He ran a 2:07.38 and placed 30th in the meet and fourth all-time at Lesley.

 

Top Women's Performers:

  • The Lynx's sole performer on the Women's team, Rebecca Hall, ran the 1500 at 5:33.98, placing her 37th.

 

Up Next:

The Lynx will go to Waterville, ME, for the NAC Conference Championship. The two-day meet will be Saturday and Sunday next week.
