THE LEAD — The Lesley Lynx came into their last NAC matchup of the year angry after last night's loss. At the same time, the SUNY Cobleskill Tigers looked to finish their regular season hot after a couple of game skids. Senior night got off to a rough start. The Tigers got off to an early lead, but the Lynx refused to back down. They retook the lead at half, but a late surge from Cobleskill ultimately doomed Lesley.
HOW IT HAPPENED
-
The Tigers were the first to score.
-
Back-to-back fastbreaks and layups by seniors, CJ Leonard and Tarrell Joseph, put the Lynx up six in the opening minutes of the game.
-
SUNY Cobleskill responded by putting on a defensive show and was able to build a lead of nine
-
The Lynx woke up and started a comeback, putting them within one with less than a minute and a half left
-
The teams traded a couple more baskets and ended the half with the Tigers up 47 to 45
-
Senior Sean Chanakira immediately hit a three to put the Lynx ahead in the second.
-
The two teams then went back and fourth either tying it up or taking the lead nine times.
-
But three three-pointers in a minute from the Tigers quickly put them up big.
-
Cobleskill held onto that lead for the final stretch of the game.
-
The Lynx started to close the lead in the final two minutes of the game, getting within five with :38 left on the clock.
-
The comeback was too little too late as the Tigers won 100-92
