THE LEAD — The Lynx headed to Bangor in hopes of finding their first win of the new year. Husson University went into the game looking to continue their streak of only wins in 2026. Both teams put up some of their best offensive performances of the year. The Eagles seemed like they couldn't miss a three-pointer and pulled out the win 113-96.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • The match got off to a hot start. The Lynx and Eagles were going back and forth until Lesley's defense started to heat up.

  • Three threes in a row, two back to back from Aaron Feaster and another from Jaxon Miles, put the Lynx up by 12.

  • Husson responded with a run of their own. Putting up 11 to Lesley's two.

  • A layup from Andre McCauley gave the Eagles the lead with four minutes left in the half.

  • The Lynx were determined. Jarod Johnson hit a three to take the lead back, and they kept it going into half, up 49-44.

  • The Eagles' offense stepped up coming out of the locker room. They tied up the game less than two minutes into the second.

  • The Lynx continued to hit their shots, but the Eagles seemed like they couldn't miss. Slowly, they started to build a lead.

  • Husson went on a streak of four three-pointers in a row, all from different players. The twelve points put the team over a hundred points.

  • The onslaught of offense led the Eagles to win 113-96

 INSIDE THE NUMBERS 

  • Johnson led the Lynx in points with 26 and was perfect from behind the free-throw line. He also grabbed three rebounds, dished out three assists, and had two steals.

  • Ethan Arnold was also perfect from the free-throw line and put up 17. He had four rebounds and added an assist and a steal.

  • Ryan Ellis did a little bit of everything, scoring six, grabbing seven rebounds, handing out two assists, recording an assist, and had the team's only block.

  • Gil Matondo of the Eagles led the team with 26 points. He set the team season record for most field goal attempts (24) and field goals made (11). He led the team with 14 rebounds, a team season high. He led the team with three blocks, which tied the season's team high. and recorded three assists.

  • The Lynx went 10 for 11 from the three-point line. The 90.9% is their highest so far this season.

  • Lesley's 96 points are the second most they've put up this season, behind their win at VTSU Lyndon when they scored 104.

  • The Eagles' 113 points are tied for their most of the season. Their 45 made field goals is also tied for their most of the season. They also tied the record for most three pointers made in a game with 15.

  • Connor Heald tied the Eagles' season high for most assists in a game with 10.
