Lesley Rocket League Black Stuns #1 Northwood
The Lesley University Rocket League Black team delivered one of the biggest upsets of the NECC season, defeating #1-ranked Northwood University. Entering the match ranked #29 in the country, the Lynx proved they belong among the best with a performance that turned heads across collegiate esports.
Lesley competes in NECC Division I, which features eight of the strongest Rocket League programs in the nation. Out of those eight programs, seven are ranked in the Top 15 nationally — with Lesley as the lone outlier at #29. This makes the Lynx's success even more remarkable, as they continue to hold their own against the elite of collegiate Rocket League.
What makes this achievement even more special is that the roster is led by three freshmen:
Together, they showcased poise, teamwork, and determination against one of the most dominant programs in the country. Their performance reflects both their individual talent and the program's commitment to developing student-athletes from day one.
Lesley stands alone as the only Division III institution ranked in the Top 32 nationwide, continuing to make history while proving that the Lynx can compete toe-to-toe with the very best — no matter the division.
The future is bright for Lesley Esports — and this upset is only the beginning.
