THE LEAD - After a rough weekend series and falling to walkoffs both games during the week, the Lynx were eager to get back on track as they started a four-game two-day series in Bangor. In the first game, the Eagles took an early lead, but the Lynx took it back. However, Husson was able to pull away in the final stretch to take the win. It was a pitcher's duel in game 2. The teams were tied in the 5th, but a two-run inning gave the Eagles the advantage and eventually a win.

HOW IT HAPPENED (Game 1)

  • Neither team did much in the 1st. It looked to be the same in the 2nd until the bottom half when the Eagles scored three runs off three straight batters.

  • Husson continued to shut down the Lynx in the 3rd, and they did the same.

  • The following inning, Gerlys Martinez drew a four-pitch walk, and Caden Shott followed by drawing one on a full count. Nathan Young singled to load the bases, and Owen Finnegan singled to put the Lynx on the board. In the bottom half, they once again kept the Eagles from extending the lead.

  • Logan Shudy was hit by a pitch to get on, and Anthony Nyhuis hit into a fielder's choice to make it first and second. Grant Bazinet singled to load them up, and a wild pitch scored Shudy. Shott then singled and put the Lynx up by one

  • However, the Eagles singled to start off their half, and an intentional walk gave them two runners. Both scored on a double to retake the lead.

  • They kept the momentum going when they put up another run in the 6th.

  • Both pitching staffs held their opponents in check for the rest of the game. The Lynx gave up one more run and fell 7-4

INSIDE THE NUMBERS (Game 1)

  • Shott did the most at the plate. He went 2 for 2 with a walk and was hit by a pitch. He also recorded half the team's RBI

  • For the Eagles, Emerson Yates was unstoppable. He went 4 for 4 with three RBI's and accounted for a run too.

  • Noah Hurd recorded his first career save. He went 2.0 innings. He let up a single walk and no hits while striking out three

HOW IT HAPPENED (Game 2)

  • Husson loaded the bases in the bottom of the 1st, but the Lynx were able to get out of the jam.

  • Neither team's bats did much in the second, and it looked the same until the bottom of the 3rd when a walk and two singles put the Eagles on the board first.

  • The Lynx were able to get some offense going in the 5th. Finnegan drew a lead-off full-count walk. A bunt from Christopher Wallace moved him up, and a single from Shudy put him on third. A single from Nyhuis scored the run and tied the game.

  • The Eagles also got a lead-off walk in the bottom half. Three straight singles scored two runs and put Husson up by 2.

  • Husson would ultimately win 3-1

INSIDE THE NUMBERS (Game 2)

  • Of the Lynx's three hits, Shudy recorded two of them in his three at-bats.

  • Roy Leonard threw a complete game. In his 6.0 innings, he let up three runs on seven hits. He tied his season high of seven strikeouts and only walked three. He was also responsible for a double play

  • Matt Holmes drove in all of the Eagles' runs in this game. He went 1 for 1 at the plate with a walk and also hit the sole sac fly for Husson.
