THE LEAD — Last night, the Falcons walked it off in the 11th, and the Lynx were hungry for revenge in the rematch. Fisher got off to an early lead, but the Lynx were able to claw their way back. Tied going into the 9th, Lesley took the lead but lost on a walkoff single.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Neither team did much in the 1st

  • In the second, the Lynx had men on second and third but couldn't score either.

  • The Falcons were the first on the board tonight. On a first-pitch single, they singled. He then stole second and got to third on a wild pitch. Another single to center put Fisher on the board.

  • In the 3rd, Logan Shudy singled and made his way to third on some wild pitches. He tried to steal home but was tagged out.

  • In the bottom of the inning, two Falcons singled, and the next one homered to make it 4-0.

  • To start the 4th, Nathan Young reached on an error, then Alexander Juhasz walked, and Andres Moreno singled to load the bases. Shudy drew a walk, and the Lynx were on the board.

  • They weren't done yet. Anthony Nyhuis singled to score Moreno, and Grant Bazinet doubled to tie up the game.

  • Neither team was able to get much going until the 9th, when Bazinet started the inning with a double. Gerlys Martinez singled to move Bazinet up, and Young singled to left to put the Lynx up.

  • In the bottom of the 9th, down by one, the leadoff Falcon was hit by a pitch. A sac bunt moved him up to second. Then a first-pitch single tied up the game.

  • The next batter walked on a full count with two outs. The Lynx intentionally walked the Falcon, who had hit the homer earlier, to load the bases. A full count single down the line let Fisher walk it off again 6-5.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS

  • Bazinet put on the best offensive performance. He went 2 for 3, two doubles, a walk, and was hit by a pitch. He recorded two RBI's and accounted for a run.

  • On the mound, Jack Butler was one out away from his first complete game. In his 8.2 innings, he allowed six runs on eight hits but he only walked two and struck out six. He escaped with no decision.

  • For the Falcons, John Bautista only recorded one hit in his four at-bats, but it was a three-run homer that changed the whole game. He also intentionally walked in the 9th.
