THE LEAD — After an incredible pitching performance from Lynx, the two teams faced off in a rematch as part of their doubleheader. Neither team could get much going at first, but the Lynx were the first on the board in the third. A big 5th gave the Owls the lead and eventually their first win of the season.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Neither team could get much going in the first couple of innings.

  • Christopher Wallace kicked off the third with a single, then Andres Moreno hit another, and Anthony Nyhuis walked. Caden Shott reached on an error and drove Wallace home.

  • Both teams had a man on base in both the 4th, but neither was able to bring him home.

  • In the 5th, the Owls got a man on first due to an error, with two outs. The next man up singled. Then the next single tied up the game. A double after that gave UMaine a 3-1 lead.

  • Once again, both teams had only a single baserunner in the 6th and 7th, but left him stranded.

  • The Owls got their first win of the season.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS
