| Title: | Faculty Athletic Representative (FAR) |
John Kim began serving as the Lesley Faculty Athletics Representative (FAR) at the start of the 2025-26 academic year.
He is currently an Assistant Professor in the Psychology+ Department, where he teaches core classes including Lifespan Development, Social Psychology, Elements of Statistics in Psychology, and Psychology Capstone, as well as a first-year seminar on romantic relationships that gives first year students an idiosyncratic introduction to Lesley University. His research interests center mostly on relationship conflict and adult-attachment processes, although he has expanded his interests to look at social justice enactment and why good intentions do not consistently lead to actual behavior.
After completing undergrad at Dartmouth College, he embarked in advanced study at the University of Minnesota which culminated in him obtaining his doctoral degree in social psychology in 2013. Following the requisite stint as a vagabond academic, he joined the Lesley faculty in 2015-16 and has charmed and/or terrorized students ever since.
Raised in Queens, N.Y., he is a fervent fan of the New York Knicks and will not apologize for it. Other athletic endeavors he follows include figure skating, professional wresting, and Jeopardy.
