The milestone year's event was marked by the significant community partnership with the Lesley University Athletic Department, spearheaded by Lesley Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC). Lesley student-athletes formed the core of the volunteer team on race day, embodying the University's deep commitment to community engagement and outreach.
"We are thrilled for this collaborative partnership with the Battlegreen Run Foundation for this iconic community event," said Alex Burt, Lesley University Head Men's Basketball Coach and Athletics Community Liaison. "Community service is a cornerstone of our athletic programs and our university's values. This partnership allows our student-athletes to give back to the town that generously supports us, especially through our use of Minuteman High School facilities for our collegiate sports programs. We were excited to help ensure that race day was a success for all the worthy causes it supports."
For three decades, the event has been proudly led by the title sponsor, Genesis HR Solutions, an Engage PEO company.
The Genesis HR Battlegreen Run is more than just a race; it is a vital fundraising platform for a consortium of local non-profit organizations. Participants can run or walk to directly support these groups, which work tirelessly to address critical needs within the local communities.
"For 30 years, this event has been a testament to the power of community coming together," said Steve Sartori, Race Director and Battlegreen Run Foundations President. "We are incredibly grateful for the enduring support of Genesis HR, and we are excited to welcome Lesley University Athletics into the Battlgreen Run family. Their students' energy and commitment to service was a tremendous asset on race day and will help us continue our mission of supporting local charities."
The Battlegreen Run Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to promoting health, wellness and community spirit through its annual road race. The event serves as a primary fundraising vehicle for select groups of local charity organization, making a significant positive impact on the community.
"These types of days are truly special for what we're building at Lesley," said Dan Campagna, Lesley University Director of Athletics. "Coach Burt and the SAAC did a phenomenal job working with the Battle Green Run Foundation and the coordinated effort among all our programs was tremendous. We talk about winning a lot in college athletics and this day was a huge win, not only for the Lynx, but the entire Lexington community."
